About Me
Growing up with little guidance on how to maximise my own potential, I understand how easily talented students can underestimate their abilities. My experience taught me that success is not simply about ability, but about having the right support, encouragement and someone who truly believes in you.
As an English teacher working with young women, I am passionate about helping them build confidence in their abilities and achieve the grades they are capable of. With my ongoing classroom experience across secondary education and a genuine love for English literature and language, I bring both expertise and enthusiasm to every session with my students.
I truly believe every student has the potential to excel in English - they simply need the right guidance to unlock it. I specialise in helping girls develop their confidence, strengthen their writing and gain a deeper understanding of the texts they study - enabling them to reach their full academic potential.
Teaching Experience
Year One
English Teacher: Years 7 to 10
Taught English across Key Stages 3 and 4 within a diverse secondary school, supporting mixed-ability classes and students with a wide range of educational needs, including SEND.
Year Two
KS4 English Teacher: Years 10 and 11
Delivered focused GCSE English Language and Literature teaching in a smaller classroom environment, providing intensive exam preparation, targeted intervention and individualised support for students.
Year Three
Head of English & KS4 English Teacher: Years 10 and 11
Combined intensive GCSE teaching with departmental leadership, overseeing curriculum progress, developing schemes of work and supporting assessment and examination processes.
Qualifications

PGCE
Postgraduate Certificate in Education for Secondary English (with Post-16 Enhancement).
QTS
Awarded Qualified Teacher Status - the UK's professional standard for classroom teachers.
BA
A Bachelor of Arts degree providing a strong foundation in analytical thinking, critical writing, and social understanding - skills that are applied in English teaching and tutoring.

What I Charge
Tutoring sessions are approximately 60 minutes. No joining fees, no long-term commitments required. A free 20-minute initial consultation is included for all new students.
